Philip Crocker

Ann Newnes

Ann Newnes was Solihull Healing Group’s senior probationar healer for many years. After completing her NFSH healer training, she dedicated her healing path to those who came to Solihull Healing Group with many different difficulties. Ann was a good listener and cared for all those she gave healing to in the many different venues the Group visited.

Ann lived in Balsall Common. She hoped to set up a satellite healing centre in her village, but unfortunately the village hall had other commitments. In her last years, Ann was incapacitated by ill health and was unable to continue healing, but always sent her best wishes to the rest of the group. Ann died in early 2007, but her fellow healers remember her with great fondness.

Philip Crocker

It is with great sadness we announce the death of Philip Crocker, one of the founder members of Solihull Healing Group, who died suddenly in August at the age of 57.

Sarah Head writes:

Phil was the first person I met when I joined Solihull Healing Group in 1999. I knew nothing about healing then, only that I wanted to learn what it entailed. Phil told me about his training and how he performed the healing act. He made me feel very welcome and keen to pursue formal qualifications.

Later I came to know Phil as the joyful person he was – always full of smiles and enthusiasm for whatever was going on. I valued his healing ability and would often seek him out to give me healing when I was feeling particularly stressed or in need. He was unfailingly gentle and unstinting with his gifts. I shall always remember the personal messages he offered me and the great love with which they were presented.

To me, Phil was a person who saw good in everything, making the best of often difficult situations. I know how deeply he cared about issues which touched him most and he had the ability to feel and respond wherever he found himself, be it playing with a severely ill toddler or walking in the countryside. He was always willing to help out with whatever was needed and gave of himself and his time with overwhelming generosity. He loved offering healing to people who had never received it before and often helped with both local and regional healing events.

To say we will miss Phil, is a total understatement. He was an integral part of Solihull Healing Group both as a healer and as our treasurer. We shall keep expecting his presence, his smiles, his jokes and his laughter to be with us and although their absence will bring sadness, their memory will also bring a smile.

For those who grieve

As candles burn,

We, who are here, remember

Those who have gone before and those who grieve

Into welcoming arms we commit you,

Close to a loving heart we place you,

      Now and forever.

Stillness and silence prevail

Cold, where warmth first flowed

Tears where laughter rang

An empty place at the table

Yet in the darkness a candle gleams,

Flickers of gold in the blackness of night

      Shine through the haze

Listen to the sound of the wind

Hear the softly spoken words of morning

Watch for the sunset at night

      For the beloved still sings

      In all our hearts

      Their song will continue

As water flows

And snow melts

And trees blossom

      The land will wake again.
